Teaching

The courses at the Chair for Philosophy primarily address students from the natural sciences and engineering. The courses intend to widen the students' conceptual and historical perspectives and to promote their ability to realize the presuppositions, consequences, and limits of their major subject.

The master in "History and Philosophy of Knowledge" is an interdisciplinary course of studies which conveys knowledge about the history of the modern world, the history of science and technology, about philosophy, and about literary and cultural studies. The two-year programme enables students to investigate the production and historical development of knowledge and technology for a selective area of expertise. These investigations are carried out by means pertaining to the humanities and cultural sciences.
